    Ms. Young is a multifaceted therapist with experience providing therapy to a diverse group of clients of various ages, genders, and backgrounds. Ms. Young has assisted clients dealing with difficulties related to depression, anxiety, neurodevelopmental, and personality disorders. She enjoys working with an array of clients including teenagers and young adults. Over the years, Ms. Young has become an innovative therapist that utilizes many forms of therapeutic expression primarily through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relational Cultural Theory, and Play Therapy Techniques. Ms. Young states, “For a lot of people, therapy can be a confusing and scary process. It is my job to create a therapeutic experience where new tools, insights, and honest expression of emotions can take place. I want my clients to walk away with a new perspective that can be useful within their everyday lives.

    Alexcia likes to meet clients where they are! She employs an integrative approach that combines psychodynamic, CBT, and multicultural theories. She also likes to incorporate clients' strengths to help them achieve their goals effectively. Alexcia has worked with clients who experience anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, substance use disorders, interpersonal concerns, identity development, and sexual dysfunctions. Alexcia has worked in college counseling, private practice, and in VA settings. She prefers to work with adults from diverse backgrounds, including those across different races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, and other marginalized identitie

    Alea Farmer is a third-year Clinical Psychology Ph.D. student at Howard University. Ms. Alea has experience working with adults of diverse backgrounds who come to therapy with a variety of different presenting concerns. She takes a warm, holistic approach to understanding the whole person in the room in order to foster a transformative relationship and effectively provide care.

    Ms. Alea values and encourages authenticity in the therapeutic space and finds it important to build a strong rapport with her clients. As a student at Howard University, Ms. Alea is thoroughly trained in providing culturally sensitive care and has a passion for serving underserved and marginalized communities. She uses a psychodynamic lens to understand the complexity and uniqueness of each client to enhance treatment outcomes.

    Ms. Alea has experience supporting individuals who are navigating stress, family and relational conflicts, anxiety and mood-related concerns, self-concept, trauma, and more. Ms. Alea is dedicated to creating a safe, affirming space where individuals feel seen, heard, and supported as they move toward healing and growth. Her ultimate goal is to walk alongside clients with empathy and care, helping them uncover resilience, deepen self-understanding, and foster lasting change.

    Damian Nwafor, PsyD.

    Psychologist

    Dr. Nwafor completed her doctoral education in clinical psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She considers herself a generalist clinician who employs a holistic and integrative approach to therapy. She enjoys meeting each person uniquely according to their individual needs. She loves working with adolescents, young adults, and adults from different ethnic backgrounds with a wide array of psychological presentations and life challenges. She also enjoys providing and integrating spirituality in therapy. Having lived in three different cultures, including in Nigeria, Italy, and United States, she appreciated exploring the impact of various cultural backgrounds on clients’ mental health. She values a multicultural approach that acknowledges the influence of culture on the development and expression of psychopathologies.
