Our Community Work

  • In Schools

    YNC partnered with Ron Brown High School and provided parent education programming from 2016-2019. Our workshops helped parents learn about social emotional development of teenagers. We also provided training on communication and boundary setting.

  • Professional Development

    YNC was contracted by OSSE to provide professional development workshops for educators within all of DC schools (charter and public). These workshops provided trainings related to implicit bias, school climate, and disciplinary strategies.

  • In Therapy

    YNC has provided sliding fee scale mental health services ($25- $50) to DC Residents who cannot afford full priced therapy services. We accept sliding fee scale patients continually throughout the year. We are also developing projects that will provide therapy to individuals who are impacted by community violence.

  • Dr. Celeste Malone

    Dr. Malone serves as YNC’s Chief Outreach Coordinator. She coordinates our efforts within schools and ensures that our interventions align with best practices. Dr. Malone is an acclaimed School Psychologist who is the 2022—2023 National Association of School Psychologists President.

Educator Wellness Support Group
